Insurance Code section 48

A “surplus line broker certificate” means a certificate issued by a surplus line broker to an insurance purchaser as evidence of the placement of insurance with an eligible nonadmitted insurer in accordance with the requirements of Section 1764, 1764.1, and 1764.2.
