Health and Safety Code section 120430
(a)
The Legislature finds and declares that 1990 marks one of the worst measles epidemics in recent history and that this epidemic threatens the health and safety of our schoolaged children.(b)
The department, in consultation with the State Department of Education, shall develop and adopt regulations to ensure that every student in any private or public elementary or secondary school, child care center, day nursery, nursery school, or development center shall have access to full immunization against measles, as determined by the Center for Disease Control, to the extent funds are available.
