Government Code section 12804.3

(a)

The Governor, upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Business and Consumer Services, may appoint up to three deputy secretaries who shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

(b)

The deputy secretaries shall be exempt from civil service consistent with subdivision (f) of Section 4 of Article VII of the California Constitution.

(c)

This section shall become operative on July 1, 2026.
