Education Code section 19678

The board of museum trustees shall prescribe the duties and powers of the curator, secretary, and other officers and employees of the museum, determine the number of and appoint all officers and employees, and fix their compensation. The officers and employees shall hold their offices and positions at the pleasure of the board.
