CA Welf & Inst Code Section 16500.9


The department shall establish one full-time position, within the office of the director, to assist counties in complying with the federal Indian Child Welfare Act (25 U.S.C. Sec. 1901 et seq.) and related state laws, regulations, and rules of court. This assistance shall include, but not be limited to, all of the following:

(a)

Acting as a clearinghouse for up-to-date information regarding tribes within and outside of the state.

(b)

Providing information and support regarding the requirements of laws, regulations, and rules of court in juvenile dependency cases involving a child who is subject to the federal Indian Child Welfare Act.

(c)

Providing or coordinating training and technical assistance for counties regarding the requirements described in subdivision (b).
