California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 15610.07

Sec. § 15610.07

(a)

“Abuse of an elder or a dependent adult” means either of the following:

(1)

Physical abuse, neglect, financial abuse, abandonment, isolation, abduction, or other treatment with resulting physical harm or pain or mental suffering.

(2)

The deprivation by a care custodian of goods or services that are necessary to avoid physical harm or mental suffering.

(b)

This section shall become inoperative on July 1, 2016, and, as of January 1, 2017, is repealed, unless a later enacted statute, that becomes operative on or before January 1, 2017, deletes or extends the dates on which it becomes inoperative and is repealed.
