(a)
Sections 16250 to 16381, inclusive, of the Vehicle Code, regarding the suspension of the judgment debtor’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle for failing to satisfy a judgment, apply if the judgment (1) was for damage to property in excess of seven hundred fifty dollars ($750) or for bodily injury to, or death of, a person in any amount, and (2) resulted from the operation of a motor vehicle upon a California highway by the defendant, or by any other person for whose conduct the defendant was liable, unless the liability resulted from the defendant’s signing the application of a minor for a driver’s license.
(b)
This section shall remain in effect only until
January 1, 2017, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted statute, that is enacted before January 1, 2017, deletes or extends that date.
