CA Welf & Inst Code Section 14134.6


Long-term health care facilities may charge a resident only the actual price paid by the facility for goods and services actually supplied to the resident and may not charge for hospital gowns. Facilities in the original contract shall inform residents of charges for personal laundry and drycleaning, haircuts, beautician services, manicures, pedicures, phone calls, television rental, and any other services payable by the resident. The facility shall also inform residents of any changes in those charges, and shall indicate on a resident’s bill every good, product, service, and medication for which the resident is being charged, including, if the patient is a senior citizen, whether or not a senior discount was obtained on the medication.
