Government Code section 11200.4

The Governor, upon recommendation of the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations may appoint not to exceed one chief deputy for the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations.

The deputy provided for in this section shall be in addition to those which may be authorized by any other law.
